Today is Memorial Day. For the past 3 years on Memorial Day I have completed the memorial day "murph" WOD in honor of Lt. Michael Murphy. It consists of 1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 air squats, and then another 1 mile run. It is brutal, and awesome. Our crossfit had over 50 people show up this morning to participate. Pretty incredible that we have that many people wanting to come do this brutal WOD to celebrate this day.
We are headed over to some friends for a Memorial Day party later this afternoon. I'm making this spinach and artichoke dip. The recipe comes from PaleOMG.
To make the dip you will need:
2 12 oz cans of artichokes
1 16 oz bag of frozen spinach
1 1/2 cup cashews
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1. In a small saucepan on medium heat, place the spinach and artichokes and let get warm
2. While those are heating up mix cashew and olive oil in your food processor.until they are the consistency of nut butter
3. Once done, place spinach and artichoke mixture in a bowl and add cashew butter to it. Then add seasonings and mix.
4. Serve with sweet potato chips
