Labor day weekend paleo feast

This weekend was the first LSU game of the season, we drove with the entire family down to baton rouge for a fun filled day of tailgating and watching football. With all three kids we ended up staying in the game for approximately 8 minutes. Ha ha! It's very difficult bringing a 21 month old to a football game. We walked back to my parents place and picked up dinner at my favorite place in Baton Rouge Izzo's illegal burrito. I always get a burrito bowl and fill it with as much meat and veggies as I can. Sunday morning after an awesome run around the Baton Rouge lakes we headed to our other favorite spot, Whole Foods, to pick up some paleo supplies that we can't get at home. Going to Whole Foods is definitely the highlight of my trips to Baton Rouge. We decided to have a few people over to celebrate labor day. I spent most of the day cooking a paleo meal. I made broccoli salad, sweet potato hummus, caramel pecan bars, grilled chicken, grilled steaks. The food was great, and so was the company.

We made your chocolate chip cookies today and they were delicious as usual. Chris ate 5 within a few minutes. Planning on trying the caramel pecan bars later in the week.

The sweet potato hummus sounds delicious; I’m going to give it a try. Thanks for sharing your recipes and pictures.

Plantains and ripe bananas are just right for Saturday’s secret supper. Fried plantain and ripe Banaba fritters.
