Pear Tart

Pear Tart

I'm getting in the holiday spirit and wanted to try something that may be good to bring to Thanksgiving this year. This pear tart is the perfect combination of the salty pie crust and the sweet filling.

For pie crust:
2 cups almond flour
1 egg yolk
Pinch of salt
1/4 cup ghee

For the filling:
4-5 small pears peeled and sliced thin
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup coconut sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tablespoon arrowroot starch
2 tablespoons melted ghee

For the topping:
3 tablespoons melted ghee
1/2 cup almond flour
1/3 cup coconut sugar
1/2 tsp cinnamon

1. Start by preheating oven to 350
2. In a bowl combine all pie crust ingredients. Then place in a greased pie dish. Press firmly down to spread evenly around pie dish.
3. In a bowl combine slice pears, lemon juice, coconut sugar, cinnamon, and arrowroot starch.
4. Now pour filling into the crust, and pour melted ghee on top
5. In a separate bowl combine all topping ingredients.
6. Sprinkle topping mixture over pears.
7. Bake 35-40 min
