Paleo tailgate

Last night we had a local fund raiser for the Turning Point Womens Shelter. Teams of 2-4 people got together and set up a table of their favorite tailgating food. In about 2 weeks the LSU tigers will start their season and tailgating will take on a whole new life in Louisiana. My friend and I decided that we would put together a paleo tailgate. We made 150 paleo cookies, and 150 bacon wrapped dates for our table. Another group of girls from crossfit did a paleo table as well.
We tried to make something that was easy and that people could just grab and go. I think next year we might try a big pot of paleo gumbo. It was really a blast, and so many people loved our paleo food. The other group of paleo girls actually won the fundraiser because their table collected the most tips overall. They made delicious vegetable skewers and pulled pork lettuce wraps with mango salsa and tomatillo sauce. Their food was awesome. I will definitely be getting their recipes. The night was a blast and the paleo tailgates were a big hit. So many people asking questions about paleo and coming back for seconds and thirds.

Bacon wrapped dates

20-24 dates
1 package of bacon

Preheat oven 350
Pit all dates
Cut bacon in half and wrap one piece around date
Stick a toothpick in to hold the bacon in place.
Cook 10-15 minutes on one side, turn dates over and cook 10 minutes on the other side

Our crossfit friends paleo tailgate- they were the Bedrock Betty's.
They really did an awesome job with their table and their cave girl costumes.

Laughing because I just took my first bite into mine and about hurt my teeth!! I figured I got mine the same place you did and I was about to call and ask, where in the world did you find the already pitted dates!! And I could’ve sworn the recipe you posted said nothing about pits ;). Glad I looked at the comments or I would think it was just part of my whole30 brain drain!! These were sooooo good!!
