Today will be my last Disney post. We travel all day tomorrow and get home mid afternoon. I am very ready to get back to my normal routine, and especially ready to see my baby boy Quin. He has been home with my mom for the past 5 days and although I know it would have been too hard to bring him on this trip, I feel really guilty that I haven't seen him since Tuesday.
This morning I skipped my run, only because tomorrow when we get home Sam and I are meeting some friends at crossfit to do a couple of WOD's that we missed today. We will be doing "grace" rest for 6 minutes and then "Helen." If you do crossfit then you know what an awesome workout that will be and that's why today is my rest day. We couldn't stand to miss those WOD's so we are basically flying home, picking up Quin, and going to crossfit with all 3 kids to get our WOD on. Oh, the things we do for crossfit.
So here's how my last paleo day at Disney went. We started the day with our final character breakfast at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall. I had eggs, bacon, and fruit. We ate breakfast pretty late so we actually skipped lunch. We spent the afternoon at the pool and headed back to Epcot for dinner at Le Celliar steakhouse. I had a salad, a steak and spinach. We met up with my brother and his kids for a couple of hours after dinner. They just happen to be here for one day while we are here. We headed back to the hotel for our last night of fireworks and packed to come home.
I would say that overall, eating paleo while at Disney is not hard. Every restaurant we went to had plenty of meat, vegetables, and a choice of fruit for dessert. If you are coming to Disney soon, I would say to make smart food choices, but enjoy yourself. It's a great place for a family trip. Tomorrow night I'll be back to cooking up some delicious paleo meals. Stay tuned.
Thank you for this! I plan on going in the fall and am new to Paleo (started a couple of weeks ago). I am a Disney freak but never eaten Paleo there. I have been doing my research and this has been so helpful! I am less nervous about eating there now. I plan on stocking up on lara bars, various fruits and nuts for snacking in between meals. I’m curious to know if the frozen fruit bars they have are Paleo…. Also, you stayed in The Contemporary, correct? The Wave is an amazing restaurant!
That is so great to hear. You will have a blast and I promise, it was easy to stay on paleo. Everywhere we went there was a healthy option. I’m not sure about the fruit bars, you’ll have to look when you get there. Have a great trip!
I really enjoyed reading your meal reviews from Disneyworld! We are frequent WDW visitors who try to maintain Paleo/Primal diets on vacation. One thing I’ve found to be really helpful is having groceries delivered to our Disney resort from Garden Grocer. This allows us to eat many meals in our room and carry snacks into the parks. Happy travels!
